The club's regular day walks (24 per year) take place on Saturdays, with a coach picking up
at various stops from Blackpool to Preston, the coach fare is currently £10. Locations visited include the Lake District,
the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District, the Howgills, Teesdale and Wales. On each walk,
there are three grades of walk each lead by one of the club's members.
Walks are graded by difficulty of distance, height climbed and terrain. The list below is for guidance only, as some walks may be slightly harder
or easier, depending on the location. The walks programme shows the distance and height of each walk.
Distance Height Climbed
Grade A 13 miles 3000 feet
Grade B 11 miles 2500 feet
Grade C 9 miles 1000 feet
Most walks include a sociable pub stop for a meal on the way home.
The club also organises weekends away to visit places which cannot be fully explored on a day trip.
A number of purely social events are also organised.
In 2002, the club went abroad for the first time in it's history, with a trip to the mountains of Majorca.
The success of this trip has been followed with trips to Spain and Greece etc. (full list on the "Social Section" Page)
